Feeling You won a stretch duel with Southwind Jazmin to capture the featured Open Pace for mares at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Tuesday night, setting a track record in the process. The race carried the night’s top purse of $50,000.

Leaving from the outside post in the eight-horse field as a 2-1 second choice, Feeling You (Cambest-Ripreza Hanover), with Tyler Buter in the bike for trainer Amber Buter, sat last early on as a furious early fractions of :26 and :54 were set. The five-year-old mare followed the cover of Southwind Jazmin, who went first over and made the lead on the backstretch, hitting the three-quarter pole in 1:21:1. In the stretch, Feeling You wore Southwind Jazmin down in the final strides to win by a neck in 1:49:1.

That time broke the previous track mark for aged pacing mares of 1:49:2, which was set in June of 2011 by Chancey Lady. It also marks the fastest time ever by a distaff pacer of any age at Pocono.

Feeling You, owned by Gallichio Racing Stable, Tyler Buter, and Cannella, won her second straight Open at Pocono and now has 11 wins in 26 races this season. She has amassed 23 lifetime victories and career earnings of $526,533.
