Q Ts Charlie made every pole a winning one en route to a 1:59.1 victory by two lengths in the feature Winners Over Pace at Northside Downs on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 23).

Redmond Doucet and the Jeremy Baker trainee posted panels in :29, 1:00.1 and 1:30 before stepping off with a :29.1 last quarter to pocket the winner's share of the $1,600 purse. A Better Man (Adam Lynk) was second with Keeperoftherealm (Ryan Campbell) rounding out the top three.

John Murphy owns Q Ts Charlie, a seven-year-old gelding and career winner of 24 starts.

Kevin Bailey drove three of his students to victory, giving himself a training hat trick on the card. In addition to victories with Whims Wonder ($11.40) in 2:04 and Behavenmyself ($14.90), Bailey won with Shadow Of A Daut in one of two Celtic Financial Series eliminations.

Shadow Of A Daut led from gate-to-wire through panels in :29.2, 1:00.1 and 1:30.2, and with a :31 last quarter, crossed the wire in 2:01.2 a half length the best. Julian I Am (John Gerard Kennedy) finished second and Bobjohnski (Ryan Campbell) was third. The Ironman (Redmond Doucet) and Regally Magnified (Mark Pezzarello) completed the top five finishers.

Bailey co-owns the seven-year-old Shadow Play gelding with Rebecca Mackenzie and Sandra Odonnell as he earned his 19th win. He paid $11.90 to win.

In the second Celtic Financial Series elimination, Howmac Napoleon (Ryan Campbell) used a similar tactic to Shadow Of A Daut acting as the mile pacesetter in his group of eight pacers. After panels in :29.3, 1:00.4 and 1:31.1, the six-year-old gelding pulled away to win by 4-3/4 lengths in 2:01. Finer Things (Ardon Mofford) was second with Elm Grove Ocean (Keigan Madden) third.

Kenneth McKinnon, Joel LeBlanc, Victoria Mines, Harold LeBlanc and Brenda Macqueen co-own the winner of 17 races. Howmac Napoleon is trained by Ian McKinnon.

Harold LeBlanc also posted a training triple on the card with Runaway Mystery (LeBlanc; 2:00.2), Southwind Ricardo (Gregory Sparling; 2:01.3) and David Lloyd George (Keigan Madden; 2:00).
