Dans Ideal converted a perfect pocket trip into a Preferred victory over last week's winner Muzzysenglishbaby and race favourite Machthemoment on Sunday afternoon at St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre.

Even-money favourite Machthemoment led the field of five through fractions of :28.4, 1:00.4 and 1:30.4 with Muzzysenglishbaby moving first up in the final race of the day, but the pocket-sitting Dans Ideal drew off to a four length victory in 2:03.2. Muzzysenglishbaby finished second and Machthemoment was third.

Frankie Joyce worked out the winning trip for trainer Kevin Dillon and Newfoundland owners Patrick Dillon of St John's and Dr. Karla Furey of Goulds. The win was the six-year-old gelding's first in the Preferred class and second this year from seven starts.
