Two-year-old stakes winners from the Gregg McNair stable were among the qualifying winners under sunny skies on Tuesday morning (Sept. 20) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Whatchulookin At, an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner last time out on Sept. 3 at Mohawk, was the fastest two-year-old of the qualifying session, moving underway from the back of a quartet after a :58.3 half and sprinting home in :26.3 for the 1:54.3 victory. The homebred Hes Watching-Oriane Blue Chip colt bested Verdun, Winmebak and pacesetter Yarm by 3-1/2 lengths.

Whatchulookin At has won three of his first five starts while banking more than $75,000 for McNair and partners Jim Newton, Bloomingwood Farms Ltd. and Paul Kidd.

Battle Of Waterloo champion Sounds Good was a 1:55.3 winner in the opener for McNair, catching the pacesetting three-year-old Sunshine Love (:29.1, :59.2, 1:28.1) from the pocket with a :27.1 final frame. Goforbroke Yankee followed back in third.

The Bettors Delight-Southwind Silence gelding, who won his last start on Sept. 4 in the OSS Grassroots Series at Clinton Raceway, is three-for-six in his debut season with more than $132,000 earned for owners Michael and Sam Sergi.

The McNair-trained trotting colt Stonebridge Bomber cut the mile in his qualifier, setting fractions of :29.4, 1:00 and 1:30.2 en route to a 1:58.4 victory. He kept clear of pocket-sitter Margarita Morning through the stretch, with the rest of the field well behind.

The son of Muscle Mass-Stonebridge Glider most recently finished fourth in the OSS Gold leg on Sept. 4 at Flamboro Downs following a maiden-breaking score at Mohawk. He's earned nearly $30,000 from six starts so far for McNair, breeder Angie Stiller and co-owner Gary Colter.

Doug McNair drove all three of his father's trainees plus the two-year-old trotting colt Menso (Tactical Landing-Hallmark Session) to a 2:02.4 win in his second qualifying appearance for trainer Duane Marfisi.

The debuting Millar Farms homebred pacing filly Honey Love (Big Jim-Mind Over Matter) rounded out the morning's two-year-old winners in 1:59.4. James MacDonald was in the bike for trainer Nick Gallucci.
