Meg Crone pupil Gimmie A Corona catapulted by rivals to post a 1:58.2 victory in the $7,200 Prospect Series preliminary for two-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday (Sept. 18) at Flamboro Downs.

Driver Jason Ryan settled Gimmie A Corona sixth while even-money favourite Fine By Me led through a :29.4 first quarter and :59.2 half. Shes Truckin Now ventured off the pegs from fourth and marched to match strides with the pacesetter to three-quarters in 1:27.4, then forged to the lead as Fine By Me folded. But Ryan revved Gimmie A Corona to the center of the track spinning around the final turn and swung for home to put away her competition and win by 2-1/4 lengths. You Were Sayin rallied from second over for second and Shes Truckin Now took third.

A filly by Control The Moment, Gimmie A Corona competes for owner-breeder 83 Racing. She won her fourth race from seven starts and has now earned $17,054. She paid $4.70 to win.
