On Friday afternoon (Sept. 14), Kentuckiana Farms announced the retirement of Yankee Glide from active stud duty.

Yankee Glide, who won the Peter Haughton Memorial at two, along with the Zweig Memorial and a Hambletonian elimination at three, made his greatest impact in the breeding shed. The son of Valley Victory cemented himself as a regular at the top of all stallion categories throughout his stallion career.

To date, his offspring have earned over $93 million and have averaged over $89,000 per starter. Yankee Glide has produced nine millionaires, including Passionate Glide, Glidemaster, Mystical Sunshine, Falls For You and Manofmanymissions.

His offspring consistently topped the yearling sales, with 18 crops having sold for over $40 million.

Yankee Glide has also made his mark as a prolific broodmare sire, with his daughters producing the likes of millionaires Market Share, Shake It Cerry, Flanagan Memory and Lifetime Pursuit.
