O'Brien Award-winning pacing filly Prohibition Legal returned to action in Tuesday (Sept. 13) morning's qualifiers at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Driven by James MacDonald for trainer Nick Gallucci, Prohibition Legal set fractions of :28.3, :58 and 1:26 before opening up 4-3/4 lengths on top while sprinting home in :26.3. The 1:52.3 qualifying win was her first charted mile in just over two months. She was followed by four-year-old male pacers Take A Gamble, No Free Lunch and Second Bruiser.
The daughter of Big Jim-Catch A Wish last raced on July 8, finishing fourth in an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold leg at Mohawk. Prohibition Legal has finished top three in her other four sophomore starts this year including a third-place in the Fan Hanover Stakes. After going eight-for-nine during her award-winning rookie campaign, the Millar Farms homebred has added $111,972 to her career bankroll that now totals $676,176.
