Harry Von Knoblauch’s Mainland Key N was the beneficiary of a pocket trip in Monday’s $20,000 Open at Harrington Raceway and responded with a strong surge in the stretch to prevail in 1:52.

Trained by Peter Tritton and driven by Ross Wolfenden, Mainland Key N turned in the fastest mile of the season at Harrington.

The seven-year-old Stoney Key gelding sat behind favourite and pacesetter, Wind Me Up, throughout fractions of :27.3, :56 and 1:24.3 before edging to the outside in the stretch and passing the leader for a one length win. Artist Point closed ground late for second as Wind Me Up held on for third.

It was the 25th lifetime victory for Mainland Key N.

It was one of three winners on the card for Harrington’s leading driver, Ross Wolfenden.
