Some top mares pumped out of the Atlantic Sires Stakes program will meet up to contest the Thursday (Aug. 10) evening feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval will host a 12-dash program starting at 7 p.m., with the feature lining up in race 11 for a $2,600 purse. The Alberta Standardbred Horse Association sponsors the Thursday evening feature at racing fans in that province eagerly await Bonus Round racing in Atlantic Lottery Gold Cup and Saucer Trial 1 on Saturday.

Tobins Brownie is the morning line favourite in the Thursday feature leaving from post seven for trainer-driver David Dowling and owners Brittany Watts, Sandra Weeks and Erroll Burgoyne of Springvale, P.E.I. The former Atlantic Sires Stakes champion was a winner her last start in 1:56.1 for win number 24 of her career.

Fellow Atlantic Sires Stakes champion Boo Yaya has rail control in the evening with Marc Campbell picking up the drive for trainer Carrie Saunders after a pair of second-place finishes in her most recent starts. Iron tough claiming mare Woodmere Rollily leaves from post two with Adam Merner aboard the Atlantic-sired daughter of Rollwithitharry.

Steelhead Hanover five-year-old Maggiesdelight is another Atlantic stakes graduate and has post four on Thursday with Corey MacPherson above the wheels for trainer Michelle Myers. Traces Of Purple was also a stakes winner from Atlantic Canada back in her day and has post six with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Robert Phillips.

Also in the field are Vines To Heaven (to be driven by Paul Langille) with post three and Ladylike (Jason Hughes) from post five.

The "Post Time Picks" like Ladylike on top: “Ladylike was put on the engine last time and raced great just getting nipped in a photo finish. We’re wagering the Blue Knight will be flooring it and she could go right down the Red Shores highway.”

Race five on the night is the Charlie Blaisdell Memorial with Miss Sangria (MacPherson) the top choice from post two for owner Alex MacPhee of Clyde River, P.E.I. Her top foes are Freedom Delight (Norris Rogers) and Fluentocity (Dowling).

The Grant Thornton pace hits the track in race seven and Painted Pony will have to overcome post seven as the morning line favourite. Hughes will drive for owner-trainer Raymond White against other top selections Evening Maelstrom (Murphy) and Zack The Men (Campbell).
