On Saturday evening, 2,300 racing fans were at Ocean Downs enjoying a fantastic 10 race card

.

The fourth raced ended surprisingly with Silver Duck slinking past a breaking Blaising Trips to take the gold. Blaising Trips started on the rail and broke out to a seven-length lead by the :57.4 half-mile marker. Silver Duck ($3.60) driven by local favourite, Ray Robinson Jr sat far behind in second place until making his move around the final turn. Having used up his brush, Blaising Trips began to slow down until making a break, yards before the wire. This allowed Silver Duck to slide past giving him a trip to the winner's circle.

Carolyn Robinson trains and owns Silver Duck. The win gave Ray Robinson his 24th win on the season; good enough for third place in the driver's title chase so far.

Driver Chuck Perry Jr. is currently second in the title chase. Saturday he recorded win number 29 driving two year old Zipper ($4.60) out of Milford, Delaware. Perry drove the pacing filly to a win in her second lifetime start for trainer Timothy Torbert.

"She's a pretty good filly with a lot more potential than she showed here tonight. It will be nice to see how she does in the Delaware Stakes," said Chuck.

Perry left with a driving double on the evening. In the eighth race he won with six-year-old gelding Driven By You ($6.20). The horse is trained by James Banks II.

Leading driver at the Ocean Oval is Frank Milby with 43 wins so far. Frank added to his leading total by winning with seven-year-old horse, A Different Tune ($4.80). The horse trained and owned by Brandon Givens took the wire in 1:59 beating out second place finisher Mac Mr Vp.

Excellent stake races are still to come during the final nights of live harness racing. The finals of the Chesapeake Bay Racing Series will be contested at Ocean Downs on August 12. The Maryland Standardbred Fund Races will take place on the 18th and 19th of August. Total purses in these eight events will exceed $100,000.
