The world of harness racing will congregate in New Jersey at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City today for the 22nd World Trotting Conference, as representatives from 17 countries and the European Trotting Union will gather for the first of five days of meetings

Thursday's theme will be "The State of the Industry" featuring a keynote address from Hall of Famer John Campbell. Topics slated for discussion include "A Statistical Summary of the Racing Industry", "A Report of European Trotting Union Activities", "Quantifying the Importance of the Industry" and "Data: the Next Step".
Future themes for the WTC sessions include "Integrity and Regulation", "Marketing and Promotion", and "Equine Welfare". Trot Insider will provide highlights and summaries from each of the conference sessions.
