After a bout with inclement weather, racing resumed at Red Mile on Tuesday and Boudoir Hanover kicked off the 11-race card with a 1:51.1 victory in the $80,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Championship series for sophomore female pacers.

The day’s events included a $30,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth series for three-year-old filly pacers and two $15,000 Kentucky Golden series contests for sophomore females.

Special Way collected her second consecutive victory in the $80,000 third round leg of the Kentucky Championship for freshman filly trotters in 1:54.1.

Boudoir Hanover left the gate in the second position with Todd McCarthy holding the lines. The daughter of Captaintreacherous-Bedroomconfessions sat behind pacesetter Msdinosis Bluegrass (Dexter Dunn) through fractions of :27.4, :56.3 and 1:24.3. In the battle to the wire the filly outlasted the leader and a game Always Gonna B You (David Miller). Msdinosis Bluegrass was third.

Sent off as the top choice, Boudoir Hanover paid $2.18 to win.

Owned by Riverview Racing, Alagna Racing, Caviart Farms and D Plouffe And S Head, the filly was a $200,000 purchase at the 2020 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

Boudoir Hanover was bred by Riverview Racing and Visionary Breeders. She has now earned $463,001 from her record of 20-6-5-2.

Special Way (Walner-Special Hill) added a second victory to her resume from four lifetime starts for driver/trainer Ake Svanstedt and owner/breeder Brittany Farms, Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld. Walner Payton (Dunn) was second and Life Itself (Tim Tetrick) was third.

Special Way is a direct descendant of Dan Patch Award-winner Honorable Daughter.

Racing resumes at The Red Mile on Sunday (Sept. 4) and continues Monday (Sept. 5) and Tuesday (Sept. 6).

First post is 1 p.m.
