Odds-on favourite Oney Hall ranged uncovered and strolled to a 1:53.2 victory in the $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Tuesday (Aug. 31).

Driver Trevor Henry settled Oney Hall into fourth from the pylon post while Memo motored to the lead moving to a :27.3 first quarter. Oney Hall stayed in position to a :57.1 half and made his move heading to the final turn, ranging first over towards Memo to three-quarters in 1:26. Straightening for the finish, Oney Hall hurried clear of his competition as Only For Justice rallied from off the pylons to take second, beaten 2-3/4 lengths, with Cool Muscle taking third.

A five-year-old gelding by Deweycheatumnhowe, Oney Hall won his fourth race from 18 starts this season and his 17th from 63 overall, lifting his earnings to $233,289. Robert McIntosh trains the $3.30 winner for owner Alan Leavitt.
