Rotten Ronnie Rolls In Inverness Feature

The four-year-old Malicious stallion Rotten Ronnie took the front from the outermost post in the quintet and led every step of the $1,700 Winners-Over Pace at Inverness Raceway on Wednesday night (Aug. 3).

Driver Redmond Doucet dashed the 1-5 favourite to the point heading to a :29.1 first quarter with Rockemsockem Scott settling into second and Thunder Alley into third. The field remained in single-file order through a :58.2 half and to three-quarters in 1:27.1 before Rotten Ronnie wrapped the job a 2-1/4-length winner in a 1:55.4 mile. Rockemsockem Scott held second while Dam Lucky grabbed third from Thunder Alley.

Redmond Doucet co-owns Rotten Ronnie with Andy Stewart. The Lennan MacIsaac trainee has now won five races from seven starts this season and 14 from 35 overall, good for $74,142 in earnings. He paid $2.20 to win.
