In consultation with the horsepeople, Georgian Downs cancelled live racing on Tuesday, Aug. 29 after a no contest in Race 7 due to unsafe track conditions. The race was declared a “No Contest” by the AGCO judges once the starting car was unable to get away from the field of horses at the start.
Six of the 10 carded races for the evening were contested as part of the season finale at the Innisfil, Ont. oval.
With a win on the final card, Brett MacDonald solidified his reign over the season's driving title with 37 wins. Jason Ryan took second with 32 wins with Colin Kelly third with 31 wins.
Jodie Cullen earned the 2023 training title at Georgian with 26 wins. Gerard Demers was second with 14 wins while Francis Guillemette and Richard Moreau tied for third with 12 wins each.
