Dragin The Wagon Wins Tioga Open

Dragin The Wagon took the featured $9,000 Open II Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday, August 26.

Dragin The Wagon flew out of the gate and held control the entirety of the mile. Owned by James, Michael, and David Cantelon, trained by Jeff Byron, and driven by Aaron Byron, the seven-year-old led through fractions of :28.0, :57.1, and 1:25.3 before winning in 1:54.3.

Bjanthony and Zoraze both charged late after the leader, finishing in a dead heat for second.

Dragin The Wagon, paying $4.00 to win, won for the fourth time this season and earned his 35th victory in his career.

Live racing returns on Sunday, August 27. The card features the Crawford Farms Trot, the Joie De Vie Mares Trot and the Artiscape Open Mares Pace. Also on tap will be the Reynolds Stakes races, featuring freshman colts and fillies, trotters and pacers. The 12-race card begins at 1 p.m.
