With only one more Sunday to go in the 2019 live race season, Clinton Raceway celebrated all things kids with the annual kids day festivities Sunday, Aug. 25.

The usual inflatables and face painting were in the park area, along with a petting zoo for kids to enjoy. On track, race fans were treated to a miniature horse race. The winner, from the two hole was Quinton, driven by young gun, Eric Lachance and accompanied by owner, Kenny Ellis.

Following race seven, the second annual Wiener Dog Race hit the track. The crowds were roaring for the 10 dog field. In a time of 2.7 seconds the winner, from the four hole was 2.5 year old, 16lb, Ellie. This was Ellie's first appearance in Clinton, and her gate speed was incredible.

The handle on the 10-race card was just shy of the $40,000 mark, and the crowd was one of the best so far in the 15-week season.

Race fans supported the Hunter Costello Memorial FUN-dation through their trackside activities, helping to raise just over $2,000 for the local organization.

The 2019 meet wraps up on the Sunday of the long weekend, with a live race post time of 1:30 p.m. for the 39th Annual Charity Driver's Challenge.
