Repeat Grassroots winner D A McDreamy and the maiden-breaking Unrivaled Hanover gave trainer Shawn Steacy an Ontario Sires Stakes double in the third leg for two-year-old pacing colts on Friday evening (Aug. 18) at Grand River Raceway.

With Jonathan Drury catch-driving, D A McDreamy (pictured above) advanced from third to take the lead at the half and opened up nearly three lengths to win his $22,000+ division in 1:56.4. Your Party and Harborlite Ambrose rounded out the top three finish order.

A four-time starter, the McWicked-Sports Beauty colt was purchased for $30,000 at the London Classic Yearling Sale and now has two wins and a third in Grassroots action, including a 1:55.3 career-best effort in the Kawartha Downs leg on July 29. He is owned by Katherine Steacy, Landmark 16 Racing Stable, Theodore Davis and Angela Haskell.

Following a pair of runner-up finishes through his first three career starts, Unrivaled Hanover led all the way to score a maiden-breaking victory in 1:56.1 for Drury and Steacy. The Bettors Delight-Upside Surprise colt, who was a six-figure Harrisburg yearling acquisition, is owned by Landmark 16 Racing Stable, Hudson Standardbred Stable, David Reid and Bertrand Gilhespy Stable. He was one of the fastest winners of the five divisions, using a :27.3 final quarter to expand his margin to 4-3/4 lengths over Max Patrick, with Astarwasborn finishing back in third.

The Murray Brethour-trained Wicked Prince (McWicked-Novel Writer) also broke his maiden in 1:56.1 as co-fastest winner of the set with J Harris in the sulky. Hutt Racing Stable owns the colt, who was a wire-to-wire winner by two lengths over Southwind Circuit and Surfrider.

The other divisions went to first-time winner Sinatra Hanover (Bettors Delight-Sawyer) in 1:57.1 with Tyler Borth driving for trainer Anthony Beaton, and Nova Scotia invader Like A Glove (McWicked-Twin B Virtue), who lowered his mark to 1:57.3 in his first provincial start for the father-son, trainer-driver team of Dr. Ian Moore and Tyler Moore.
