On Friday (Aug. 19), Workin Ona Mystery will look to become the first three-time winner of the $100,000 #SendItIn Invitational at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

Workin Ona Mystery will leave from post four as the 5-2 morning-line favourite with David Miller behind the lines. The six-year-old son of Captaintreacherous has hit the board eight times in 12 seasonal starts. With four wins in 2022, Workin Ona Mystery is the field’s newest millionaire with $1,073,681 in the bank. Just last week the Ron Burke trainee finished third in the $315,000 Dan Patch Stakes behind Bulldog Hanover. 

Workin Ona Mystery’s previous #SendItIn victories came back-to-back in 2020 and 2021 for co-owners Burke Racing Stable, Milton Leeman, Alan Keith, and the Wingfield Brothers.

In post 7, Charlie May is the 9-2 second choice. The four-year-old gelding by McArdle is following last week’s Myron Charna President’s Pace victory in 1:49.3. Brett Miller will remain in the sulky. Steve Carter conditions the world champion for Don Tiger.

With $1.3 million in career earnings, Charlie May has tallied 21 wins in only 41 lifetime starts. He ties for the field’s fastest lifetime mark of 1:47.1 alongside Tattoo Artist, the 5-1 third choice.

Friday’s card also includes the $100,000 Cleopatra Invitational featuring reigning U.S. Horse of the Year Test Of Faith. 

David Miller will guide Test Of Faith from the second tier in post ten. Trained by Brett Pelling, the mare has won half of her ten seasonal starts with four additional second place finishes. Her 2022 victories include the Roses Are Red final, Graduate Series final, and the Dorothy Haughton Memorial where she established her lifetime mark in 1:47-.

Test Of Faith is owned by Melvin Segal, Kentuckiana Racing Stable, and Eddie Gran.

The 7-2 second choice, Lyons Sentinel will leave from post four with Matt Kakaley getting the call. The five-year-old daughter of Captaintreacherous has won three of eight seasonal starts, including the Clara Barton Distaff Pace on July 25. The mare has bankrolled $2.1-million throughout her racing career for trainer Jim King Jr. Threelyonsracing owns Lyons Sentinel.
