Live harness racing returned to Harrington Raceway on Monday (Aug. 14) with trainer Joe Columbo, the meet's leading conditioner, posting a hat trick on the evening card.
Columbo met three of his trainees in the winner's circle on the evening card. Montrell Teague drove Imwoncaptainwiser ($13.20) to a 3-1/4 length score in 1:56 in the opener and then drove Columbo's student Lous Lucky Girl ($32.40) to a 2-1/4 upset score in 1:54. Ross Wolfenden upset with Badlands N Wine ($54.40), winning by one length in 1:56.3 and giving Columbo his third trip to get his picture taken.
Driver Bart Dalious posted a driving triple on the card, including a victory with Brooks Gray trainee Major Escape ($22.80, pictured above). Teague, Tony Morgan and Corey Callahan each had driving doubles.
Live racing will continue on a Monday-Tuesday schedule until Sept. 4, when racing shifts to Monday through Wednesday.
