Banker Volo vaulted to the front and held command through the mile in progress to a track-record 1:54.1 mile in the $11,000 Open Handicap Trot on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Running Aces.

Driver Rick Magee sprinted from the gate with Banker Volo and took control, posting a sharp :27.3 quarter with Silverlode floating into the pocket. Banker Volo settled down and slowed to the half, timed in :57, before turning the flames back on to three-quarters in 1:25.2 and trotting strongly in the stretch to hold off a fast closing Silverlode by a neck at the wire.

The 1:54.1 clocking eclipsed the previous track record for aged trotting stallions of 1:54.2 set by Banker Volo in June. The Jenni King trainee collected his fifth win in fifteen starts this year and boosted his career bankroll to $396,248 for owner Jeralene Roland. He paid $7.00 to win.

Holdingallthecards took the $9,000 Winners-Over Pace off a pocket trip to equal the all-time fastest mile at Running Aces, winning in 1:50.4.

Bettors Promise launched for the lead while Holdingallthecards secured pocket position behind fractions of :27 and :56. Bestinthebusiness then launched a first-over attack, prompting the field to stack at three-quarters in a sprint after Bettors Promise. Through a 1:22.4 third panel, Bettors Promise fought on the lead with Holdingallthecards popping pocket in pursuit and Whatchastarinat, riding the rail, angling to the center of the track. Holdingallthecards finished in front of the three-horse line to the wire a neck ahead of Bettors Promise with Whatchastarinat third.

Holdingallthecards, a nine-year-old gelding by Cams Card Shark, is owned by William and Richard McIntyre of Wisconsin and trained by Denise Maier. This was his 47th win career and has accrued $496,025 in earnings. He paid $21.40 to win.

The $14,000 Minnesota-sired three-year-old pacing event went to Ridonkuloso who picked up his fifth win in ten starts this season. The gelded son of Voracious Hanover went gate to wire with a 1:54.3 mile to complete a two-race win streak and upset the field at 7-1. Ridonkuloso is owned by Mathew Van Oterloo and trained by Brett Ballinger.

Racing returns to Running Aces on Sunday, Aug. 12 with first post at 6:00 p.m. (CDT) and a carryover in the 20-cent Jackpot Pick-5 wager of $11,949.88.
