St Lads Criminal made it eight straight wins over Grand River Raceway with a lifetime-best effort in Friday evening's $8,000 fourth race.

Driver Anthony Haughan made the winning move in rein to the streaking St Lads Criminal with a quarter-mile to go after following in third and the three-year-old pacer took off in the stretch to win by 3-3/4 lengths, lowering his lifetime mark to 1:52.3. 

Sent postward as the 1-5 favourite in the field of eight, he paid $2.40 to win. It Takes Two finished second off from the pocket over race leader Come On Artie.

 

 

Lori Lapage trains the Control The Moment gelding, who is now eight-for-10 in his debut season with earnings of $28,662, for owner Rebecca Williamson of Blyth, Ont. St Lads Criminal is undefeated over the Elora, Ont. oval, with his win streak stretching back to June 9.
