Odds-on favourite Dontblvmejustwatch grabbed the lead early and dominated his peers from there to take the $1,600 Winners-Over Pace at Northside Downs on Thursday (Aug. 11).
Driver Randy Getto pushed the five-year-old Hes Watching gelding for the point from the pylon post while Runaway Mystery gave chase into the pocket through a :28.2 first quarter. Dontblvmejustwatch continued on the lead under no pressure to a :58.1 half and faced a minor challenge from Kiss Me Im Irish to three-quarters in 1:28. Turning that rival away around the final turn, Dontblvmejustwatch slipped home to win by 3-1/2 lengths over Runaway Mystery with Mando Fun taking third and Revenant settling for fourth.
Randy Getto co-owns Dontblvmejustwatch with Wayne Hardy and Susan Macsween. The gelding won his fifth race from 19 starts this season and his 11th from 64 overall and has now earned $84,447. Dana Getto trains the $3.50 winner.
