When Some Like It Hot recorded her first-ever charted line in a June 12 qualifier, her margin of victory was a mere head. The margin of victory in her second-ever qualifying dash, which came this morning at Mohawk Racetrack, was

much, much larger.

In rein to her trainer, Lyle MacArthur, in Race 1, the brown daughter of Ken Warkentin left from Post 4, made every call a winning one and romped. The splits were sliced in :30.3, 1:01.1 and 1:30.3. The two-year-old filly came home in :30.2 for a 2:01 win time. The margin of victory was no less than 20 and a quarter lengths.

Some Like It Hot, who was a $32,000 purchase at the November 2009 Harrisburg sale, is eligible to the Canadian Breeders Championships, Champlain Stakes, Peaceful Way Stakes, SBOA Stakes and the Simcoe Stakes.

After having started from Post 8 in Race 2, the Shayne Barrington-trained and Mike Saftic-driven Sixteen Kadabras made the lead before the opening half-mile marker and scooted off to a three and a half-length win in 2:00.1. The mile this morning was the two-year-old Kadabra colt's seventh qualifier since June 5.

Two-year-old Amigo Hall colt Max Money was max the best during Race 3. In rein to his trainer, Blair Burgess, the homebred bay went to the top early from Post 7, cut the fractions in :32.1, 1:01.2 and 1:30.1, and came home with a 30-second final panel in record the 2:00.1 win. The margin of victory was 11 lengths. The colt has now won both of its two qualifying races.

Two-year-old Bettors Delight colt Stuck Up, the $150,000 yearling purchase which is out of the same dam as Pedigree Snob, came from off the pace in Race 4 to notch a three-quarters-of-one-length victory in 1:58 for trainer/driver Dustin Jones.

After having started from Post 9, Stuck Up was well of the speed early on -- 17 lengths back at the opening half-mile (:59.1), to be exact. The colt was racing three-wide and was more than seven lengths off the engine at the three-quarters (1:28.4). Digging in with a :27.4 final quarter, Jones and his pupil got up to out-close Blue Monster (driven by Merv Chupp).
