The Muscle Mass colt Stormont Leslie left for the lead and kept favourite Sir Ballykeel at bay to win the $7,000 Prospect Series division for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Saturday (July 30) at Kawartha Downs.

Driver Ryan Guy grabbed the lead with the Kevin Benn trainee to a :30.3 first quarter and raced unchallenged by the half in 1:00.4. Sir Ballykeel pulled first over passing the half and advanced towards the leader to three-quarters in 1:31.4. He continued to grind forward off the final turn but Stormont Leslie held firm at the pylons to win by a head in 2:01. Arch Ruler gave chase from the pocket to finish third and My Holy Holey took fourth.

Stormont Leslie, a homebred for Stormont Meadows, won his second race from nine starts and has now earned $8,416. He paid $11.40 to win.
