According to a report by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a mysterious power outage struck the Meadows this morning. A spokesman has said that officials could not immediately identify the source of the problem

The Meadows will be hosting the highly anticipated $677,665 final of the Delvin Miller Adios for three-year-old pacers Saturday, August 1. Click here for more information about the 2009 edition of the Adios.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review states that the power at the Pennsylvania track went out at roughly 11:45 a.m. The outage lasted 30 minutes.

"Guests had exited the casino in an orderly fashion," spokesman David LaTorre was quoted as saying in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review article. "As we understand it, the outage occurred at an incident outside of the property, but we have no other details."

Coincidentally, Mohawk Racetrack in Campbellville, Ont. suffered a power outage during the week leading up to the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, Canada's premier event for three-year-old pacers. Many of the horses scheduled to contest the Adios took part in the NA Cup, which proved to be a very successful event yet again.
