Magnificent Seven dominated the Pop-Up Series trotters in action on Friday night (July 29) at Woodbine Mohawk Park, winning his $12,500 opening leg division by six lengths in 1:54.1.

Driven by Louis Philippe Roy for trainer Mark Goddard, 7-5 favourite Magnificent Seven ($4.90) swept from third to first after a :27.3 opening quarter and opened up a couple lengths through middle splits of :56.1 and 1:24.4 before drawing off in deep stretch, with Mystic and Brydown Houston rounding out the top three finishers. Brandon Guerra owns the son of Chapter Seven who picked up his first Mohawk victory.

Goddard and Roy doubled up in the series as 9-5 favourite Villefranche As ($5.90) took the lead at the half-mile mark in her division and held off Heavensdor Hanover and Colt Rage to her inside down the lane for a 1:55.1 victory. The six-year-old daughter of Conway Hall is owned by Howard and Joshua Kaufman.

The other divisions were won by Hawaii ($3.20) in 1:55.4 with Sylvain Filion aboard for the Rick Zeron Stables and the Alan Fair-trained Shes Got Pizazz ($7) in 1:56 with Paul MacDonell in the driver's seat.

The series is for trotters that have raced for a purse of $10,000 or less in one of last three starts or non-winners of $25,000 in 2022 (minimum 15 starts).
