Atlantic Sires Stakes Hits Cape Breton

Both Northside Downs and Inverness Raceway will play host to some of the best Maritime-sired competitors this weekend with Atlantic Sires Stakes action on Saturday (July 29) and Sunday (July 30).

Northside Downs will host one $20,020 AtSS division for three-year old colts on Saturday (July 29).  Six of the top sophomores head behind the gate in the afternoon's seventh race.  Malignity, pictured above with trainer-driver Paul Langille, is the morning line favourite leaving from post four.   Second choice No Boats On Sunday will have rail control for driver Myles Heffernan Sr. and trainer Jeff Holmes, with post five starter Fishermans Son rounding out the top three selections. Trainer Walter Walker will also drive.

Atlantic Sires Stakes Action stays in Cape Breton when the best two-year-old colts and fillies head to Inverness Raceway on Sunday (July 30) for a full stakes card.

Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes trotting event and 'A' division pacing event go towards earning a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships slated for Oct. 8, 2023, at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
