Trot Insider has learned that Canada's leading driver James MacDonald will be out of action after being injured in a recent off-track accident.
MacDonald told Trot Insider he suffered a back injury in a recent boating accident and will be sidelined for an undetermined period of time.
"I should know more in the next few days," said MacDonald. "I'm feeling great and healthy so hopefully that's a good sign and I won't miss too much action."
MacDonald, who was named Canada's 2021 Driver of the Year, currently sits atop of the national season's leaderboard with 231 wins and earnings topping $4.5 million.
