New Legacy will look to win the second Fox Group Island Trot Challenge event on Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Capital oval has a rock solid 14-dash program for Thursday evening with a 6 p.m. opening post time.

The Fox Group Island Trot Challenge continues with its second event of the season in a $5,300 dash in race 12. New Legacy is the top choice in the field of six with Adam Merner getting the driving assignment from trainer Colin Johnson for owners Debbie Element, Matt and David Burke and Don MacNeill Jr. The Father Patrick trotter has shown how much he loves to win as he will look for his 20th lifetime victory in his 66th career start.

Sailor Blue will loom the danger from post one with trainer Jeff Holmes winning the majority of his starts in recent weeks from his Pinette operation. Ken Murphy drives the eight-year-old daughter of Armbro Barrister who has yet to miss the board this season.

Jessiejesorjessica will leave from post six with David Dowling in the seat from the Jennifer Doyle barn after defeating this group in her latest start.

Also in the field are Incredible Two (Kenny Arsenault), Striking Pride (Corey MacPherson) and Majian Tango (Jim Ripley).

The "Post Time Picks" like New Legacy on top: “New Legacy has been crowned the new ‘King Of The Open Trot’ and leaving from post two we say the winning continues.”

Race six is the Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis Chartered Professional Accountants Pace with Shes Rockandfame returning to P.E.I. as the morning line favourite. Dowling will drive the Hes Watching mare for trainer Mike Dowling and owners Amy Lakie and Michael Arnold.

The All Star Cresting Prospect Trot Series kicks off in race four as Oceanview Chip is the favourite with post six for driver Merner and co-owner and trainer William Roloson and co-owner Joey Aylward. His top foes are listed as Dusty Lane Wee (Campbell) and Dusty Lane Tucker (MacPherson).
