Fool Me Once Back In Action

After a three-week rest, highly-regarded three-year-old pacer Fool Me Once will be back on track this Sunday.

North America Cup elimination winner, and multiple New York Sire Stakes victor, Fool Me Once, leads the headlines for eighteen 3-year old colt pacers on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs. Campaigned from the Mark Austin Stable from Fergus, Ontario, the three-year old son of Art Major – Fool That I Am has enjoyed a wonderful first half of his sophomore campaign.

Fool Me Once has recorded six victories in eight beautifully mapped out starts to keep the ten time career winner fresh heading into the second half of the season. Fool Me Once took his seasonal mark of 1:48.1 when he captured an elimination of the North America Cup at Mohawk in June for Austin and co-owner Dan Smith of London, Ont. Scott Zeron will make the trip to Nichols, New York to drive Fool Me Once who will start from post four in the first of two $67,243 NYSS divisions.

In the second $67,243 division, Source Of Pride has been installed as the 5/2 morning line favourite for the Jimmy Takter stable. The three-year old son of American Ideal – Trim Hanover won a division of the NYSS at Yonkers two starts back in 1:50.4. Jim Morrill Jr. has been listed to drive Source Of Pride who will leave from post position number two in Sunday afternoon’s ninth race.

Tioga Downs will also hold five divisions of NYSS Excelsior races on Sunday afternoon for three-year old colt pacers, post time for the twelve race card is slated for 1:30 p.m.
