The post position draw for the $450,000 Delvin Miller Adios Final took place before the Tuesday card at The Meadows.

The Adios will be contested on Saturday, July 27 as Race 12, with a projected 4:05 p.m. post time.

Lonewolf Currier will start from the rail for John Campbell. The duo has been installed as the 5-2 morning-line favourite. The other elim winner, Sunfire Blue Chip, will start from Post 4, which is the 'winningest' post position at the Meadows so far this year. Yannick Gingras will steer Sunfire Blue Chip, and the duo has been pegged at odds of 8-1 on the morning line.

“No.4 is the winningest post? Let’s keep those numbers up,” joked Jimmy Takter, the trainer of Sunfire Blue Chip. “Anything four and inside is good. I’m very happy with it. He was off three weeks before the elimination, and I really expect him to step it up a little bit.”

Not as lucky was Word Power, who raced very well from Post 9 in his elim last week only to finish a nose short of Sunfire Blue Chip. Word Power and driver Jim Morrill Jr. will need a similar effort Saturday, as they have drawn Post 8 (The draw for the final was open, that is, no preferences were given to elimination winners).

“It’s a bad post. It’s something he’ll have to overcome,” said Word Power's trainer, Larry Remmen. “He’s raced well his last three starts, but has had some tough luck. Perhaps there’ll be a lively flow and he’ll land in a good spot.”

The Adios field, from the rail out with drivers and morning-line odds, appears below.

1 - Lonewolf Currier - John Campbell - 5-2
2 - Ultimate Beachboy - Dave Palone - 6-1
3 - Some Kinda Beach - Andy Miller - 8-1
4 - Sunfire Blue Chip - Yannick Gingras - 8-1
5 - Evenin Of Pleasure - Brett Miller - 10-1
6 - Beach Memories - Corey Callahan - 10-1
7 - Vegas Vacation - Brian Sears - 7-2
8 - Word Power - Jim Morrill Jr. - 9-2

The Adios Day card, which begins at 12:20 p.m., features plenty of Grand Circuit action to complement the “Pace for the Orchids,” including seven colts in a $50,000 Adios Consolation, the $140,000 (est.) Quinton Patterson Adioo Volo for sophomore pacing fillies, the inaugural $90,000 (est.) Mary Lib Miller for two-year-old pacing fillies and the $100,000 (est.) Gov. David Lawrence for freshman colt and gelding pacers.

In addition, the Meadows, in cooperation with the United States Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Initiative, will offer three special wagers with guaranteed pools: a $7,500-guaranteed Pick 4 (Races 4-7); a $15,000-guaranteed Late Pick 4 (Races 9-12), and a $25,000-guaranteed Superfecta on Race 12, the Adios final.
