Undefeated over Grand River Raceway's half-mile oval, three-year-old pacing colt St Lads Criminal snatched his sixth straight victory on Friday night.

The Control The Moment colt (pictured above winning on July 14) showed his affinity for the Elora, Ont. oval with another dominant victory in the evening's $7,200 eighth race.

After a pair contested the opening quarter in :28.1, St Lads Criminal swept to command from third once the action up front settled and then cruised through middle splits of :59 and 1:27.3 in rein to Anthony Haughan. As Speed Snip (Travis Henry) advanced first-over into contention, St Lads Criminal took off in the stretch for the 1:55.4 victory, leaving his rivals 6-1/4 lengths behind. P L Quicksand (Jason Ryan) finished second over Ossie The Second (J.B. Renaud) after their early tussle with Speed Snip fourth.

St Lads Criminal is now six-for-eight in his debut season -- with all of his wins at Grand River -- for trainer Lori Lepage and owner Rebecca Williamson. The lion's share of the loot pushed his bankroll to $21,062.

Bet down to odds of 1-9, the favourite paid just $2.10 to win.
