Go Go George, with Christina Johnson at the controls, copped the GLADA Trot Saturday night (July 2) at Northfield Park, turning back seven others in progress to a 1:57.2 victory — the trotter's first of the season.
After starting from the five hole, Johnson hustled her trotter to the lead and they had command at the quarter in :28.4. She then let Steve Oldford take charge with Sumbodygetdisfool and he showed the way to the half in :59. But up the backside, Larry Ferrari sent So Wishful for the lead, which they gained at three-quarters in 1:28.4. But they had to contend with Go Go George, who was rallying on the outside. And when they turned for home, he was the strong horse and Johnson hustled him to a 2-1/2 length victory over So Wishful. Fultons Fury gained the show dough for Darrell Rideout.
Kiesha Ferrari owns the winner who paid $15.20.
