Inverness Raceway featured the Winners Over feature pace, honoured as the Duncan MacKinnon Memorial Pace, in the evening nightcap on Wednesday (July 19) and Custards Dungeon won by open lengths.

Custards Dungeon and Zachary Mullins took the early lead in the field of six, despite broken equipment going into the first panel in :31.1. JJ Scarlett (Donald Gillis) took over going to the half in :59.2 with Custards Dungeon second on the outside. Mullins and 'Dungeon' regained control of the field through the three-quarters in 1:29.1 before opening up on their opponents. Custards Dungeon crossed the wire 5-1/2 lengths in front in 1:58.3 to collect the winner's share of the $1,800 purse. Windemere Best Man (Rodney Gillis) grabbed second and JJ Scarlett rounded out the top three.

Trained by Mullins, Custards Dungeon is owned by Chris McKenzie and he collected his 11th career win.

Off at odds of 7-1, the well-travelled seven-year-old son of Custard The Dragon paid $15.90 to win.
