Stafford Remembered At Harrah’s Philly

On Sunday, July 10, horsepeople, fans, track employees, and friends gathered in the Harrah’s Philadelphia winner's circle after the fourth race to remember Ben Stafford Jr., who passed away earlier in the week.

Stafford, who had more than 650 driving wins in his career, was a frequent participant at the Chester oval (click here for more on Stafford’s passing).

The Sunday racing action at Harrah’s Philly was fast and furious. The day saw two miles go under 1:50. Bamond Racing and J&T Silva Stable's Ideal Cowboy (driven by David Miller) and Dylan Davis trainee Arque Hanover (Corey Callahan) both stopped the timer in 1:49.4 in their respective races.

The featured event on the program, which was a conditioned race, saw Rockeyed Optimist (Brett Miller) get up in the lane and post a half-length victory in 1:50.4.
