Henry Wins Five At Georgian

Driver Travis Henry reigned over the Saturday, June 8 card at Georgian Downs when winning five races on the nine-race card.

Among Henry’s victories, Debt Collector kicked off cover rounding the final turn to take the $6,500 sole division of the Sharpes Feed Series second preliminary in 1:59.1.

The gelded son of Holiday Road sat fifth as Pm Acres Always led to a :28.1 opening quarter and battled first-over Speedy Duncan into a :58.4 half. Henry angled off the pylons with Debt Collector moving to a 1:28.3 third quarter and quickly circled horses to move into second turning for the finish. The Keith Jones trainee edged three-quarter lengths ahead of pocket-popper Delcrest Ronnie to win while H D finished third.

Owned by Douglas McCarthy, Debt Collector won his second race from 14 starts, earning $12,834. He paid $8.90 to win.

Henry’s first win on the night came in Race 3 when he brushed favourite Iconic Velocity ($5.40) to the lead in the backstretch in progress to a 1:55.1 win. The remainder of his wins came on the lead with Oceanview Magnum ($4.50), Fern Hill Breeze ($3.60) and Kingofthejungle ($3.30) all getting victories.
