Ferguson, a Charlottetown native and Gold Cup & Saucer ambassador in 1980, replaces Nancy Moore who resigned the position earlier this year to take a leave of absence. The coordinator is responsible for the ambassador’s schedules, appearances, photos and special events leading up to the Gold Cup & Saucer on August 22.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity to work with the young woman selected to be Gold Cup ambassadors,” said Ferguson, President and Director of Operations with Junior Achievement PEI. “They play such an important part of an Island racing tradition. It’s going to be a great time.”

This year marks the 50th Running of the Gold Cup & Saucer with highlights including an ambassador reunion, Countdown to the Cup promotion featuring a pool of prizes totaling $50,000, trackside presentations and replays of some of the biggest moments in the sport’s history.

Gold Cup Ambassador resumes can be dropped off to the Harness Racing PEI office. The deadline for entries is June 15, 2009 at 4 p.m.
