First Wins For Frosh Fillies In NJSS Action

Two-year-old trotting fillies stepped out in the first leg of the New Jersey Sires Stakes Thursday night at Meadowlands Racetrack

Vanity Treasure captured her first career win in the first NJSS division for a purse of $21,500. After stalking race leader Chilitodayhottamale for most of the race, the Muscles Yankee-Armbro Vanity daughter popped the pocket and kicked home to win in 2:00.1. Favourite Chilitodayhottamale finished a length back in second. Gerris Glide was third.

Vanity Treasure was a $35,000 yearling purchase from the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Driver-trainer Chris Ryder owns the filly along with Max and Tamra Wernick of New City, New York. Vanity Treasure paid $20.20 for the upset.

Dorsay took the lead at the top of the stretch and pulled away to win the second $22,000 NJSS division in 2:00.1 for driver Yannick Gingras. Upside Hanover was second while Exercise To Go finished third.

The Yankee Glide-Danae filly was a $50,000 yearling purchase from the Lexington Selected Sale in Lexington, Kentucky for owner Consus Racing Stable Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida. Dorsay, who is trained by Jonas Czeryson, returned $5.40 for her first career win.
