Once again, the freshman class headlined the card at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday (June 29) evening as four races featured two-year-old trotters and pacers.

The fastest freshman mile was timed in 1:54 in the $16,000 two-year-old filly pace by David Menary trainee Pass Line. Louis-Philippe Roy handled the lines of Pass Line as they set up into post three in the field of nine. The young lady got away third behind Raffle Winner (Sylvain Filion) on the rail and Tribal Dancer (Trevor Henry), who was locked on the outside through the opening panel in :28.2. Roy tipped Pass Line off the rail and bypassed a settling Tribal Dancer, taking over as they passed the half in :58.1. Pass Line continued on the front through the three-quarters in 1:27.1 en route to a 1-1/2 length achievement in 1:54, a career best for the filly. Raffle Winner finished second and Tribal Dancer was third.

Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC co-own the daughter of All Bets Off-Breakheart Pass as she collected her second win in two starts.

A second field of nine two-year-old filly pacers stopped the timer in 1:55.4, set by Pass And Stow and James MacDonald from post seven. Pass And Stow was fourth at the opening panel in :29.2 and half in :59.3. MacDonald made his move right after the half-mile marker and led the outer charge towards the front. Pass And Stow bypassed her competitors along the rail as they met the three-quarters in 1:28.1. The Anthony Beaton trainee kept on moving to pass the leader and win by a half-length in 1:55.4. Century Kalimba (Travis Cullen) closed fast to finish second and Sporty Liz (Tyler Jones) grabbed third.

West Wins Stable and Mark Dumain co-own the daughter of Betting Line-Ok Heavenly for her first career win.

Seven young male trotters opened the evening card competing for the $16,000 purse. James MacDonald was in the bike of bettors' choice and Desiree Jones trainee Top Mast in post six. At the start, Top Mast settled into fourth as three of the competitors went off stride behind him before the quarter in :29.3. The top four of the field remained unchanged through the half in 1:02. Doug McNair and Muscle Detector were the first to pull the right line and Top Mast pulled three-wide around everyone as they passed the three-quarters in 1:31.2. McNair moved to the rail while MacDonald maneuvered between Muscle Detector and leading Mrstery Deal to take the win by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:59.3. Muscle Detector captured second and Mrstery Deal (Sylvain Filion) was third.

Gino Toscani owns the Walner-Princess Lilly colt as he earned his second win in two starts.

In the $16,000 class for two-year-old filly trotters, Cold Snaps (Trevor Henry) got away fourth off the car as the field was led to the quarter in :28.1 by Karens Dream. Henry tipped the Blake MacIntosh trainee out and buzzed to the top, continuing in the lead through the half in :59.3 and three-quarters in 1:28.3. Cold Snaps used a :28.1 last quarter to win by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:56.4. Queen Cabal (Sylvain Filion) took second and Gaming Queen (James MacDonald) was third.

Owned by MacIntosh and Tim Klemencic, the Six Pack-Winter Sweet Frost daughter earned her first win in two starts.

In the $15,000 Pop Up Series, Heavensdor Hanover (Jody Jamieson) followed the pocket trip up to the final turn, where the Herbert Holland trainee took over en route to a 2-1/2-length victory in 1:54.4.
