Treasured Tee Upsets In Preferred

The trip was pretty for Treasured Tee in Tuesday’s top trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and the end result was even prettier for the Richard Moreau trainee.

In rein to Doug McNair, Treasured Tee was treated to a pocket trip behind the favourite and when that foe drifted out in deep stretch Treasured Tee shot up the pylons for his second win in the class this month.

Treasured Tee powered to the lead from Post 6 and had the field chasing him to the quarter pole in :27.2. Perfetto was parked around the turn, but he eventually muscled his way to the front as the field entered the backstretch.

Perfetto crawled to the half in :57.1, but he came under attack from Zig Zag as the group moved into the final turn. Perfetto and Zig Zag didn’t have much separating them at the three-quarter pole in 1:25.1, but Perfetto eventually put away that foe in the lane. Perfetto drifted off the rail, however, and Treasured Tee stormed up the cones to win in going away fashion in 1:54. Perfetto was next best, with third prize going to last week’s Preferred winner, Pikachu Hanover.

Tuesday’s card also featured a trio of events for two-year-olds – one for pacers and two for trotters.

Lauralanthalasa dusted the four foes she faced in a $15,000 pacing event.

The Artspeak-Advice Column lass is owned by Mali Norbye, Phillip McGuire and Shirley Kunen.

Renegade Gypsy snuck up the rail in the lane and came away victorious in his pari-mutuel debut for trainer/driver Mario Baillargeon.

The gelding posted the narrow score over Cacio E Pepe in 2:00. Taking home third prize in the $15,000 contest was a lapped-on A Royal Hit.
