It has been announced that Major In Art, the 2008 Two-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year in the United States, will be standing at Tara Hills Stud in Port Perry

, Ont. Tara Hills has purchased an interest in the colt, and it has also been announced that a very unique breeding opportunity is available.

Tara Hills Stud has announced that it is offering a very unique opportunity to purchase a limited amount of lifetime breedings in Major In Art, a three-year-old son of Art Major. This is a unique offering that has never been done before in Ontario.

In his 10-race career, Major In Art compiled a record of 6-1-2 with a mark of 1:50.4 and earnings of $896,060. The colt broke his maiden in winning the Goshen Cup at the Meadowlands Racetrack in 1:54.1. The dark bay would go on to capture the prestigious Woodrow Wilson over the Meadowlands in a life's best 1:50.4. When he took on competition north of the border, Major In Art excelled, snaring the $1 million Metro Pace at Mohawk Racetrack in 1:51.2.

Major In Art was trained by Justin Lebo at two for the Major In Art stable. The colt moved into the barn of Noel Daley for his highly-anticipated three-year-old campaign. Unfortunately, the colt suffered an avulsion fracture while preparing for the 2009 stakes season. Though they considered options for the end of this season's stakes calendar, the connections were subsequently forced to retire the budding star.

Major In Art is by Art Major, the young, successful sire whose first three crops have earned in excess of $13 million, with average earnings per starter of $64,491.

Major In Art is from the Jate Lobell mare Miami Spice p,3, 1:54.4. She is from Town Tattler p,3, 1:54.3 ($131,950), a half sister to a host of big winners, which include Life Is A Cabaret p, 1:50.2 ($869,280) and Tattler’s Torpedo p,2, 1:53.4 ($400,737).

Regarded as a magnificent and gorgeous-looking individual, Major In Art stands 16.1 hands. He is long in the barrel and has a powerful back end.
