Meadowlands Racetrack has unveiled its on-track event schedule and promotions for July as its Championship Meet of live harness racing continues every Friday and Saturday night with post time at 6:20 p.m.
Every live race night, fans can enter Horseplay. Fans can pick up a free toy horse at the promotions table and throw the horse into the car for a chance to win $100 and an entry into the Friday, Aug. 4 drawing for a brand new 2023 Toyota Camry.
Meadowlands's partners at FanDuel are running an exciting Manchester United vs. Arsenal ticket giveaway promotion. Fans 21 years and older can place a $15 wager at the FanDuel Sportsbook located inside the track to enter. Winners will receive two suite tickets to the match at MetLife Stadium on July 22. On Saturday, July 8, the annual BBQ Extravaganza returns to the track on Meadowlands Pace eliminations night. A total of $2,500 is up for grabs in the BBQ battle with $500 top prizes for the best brisket, chicken, pulled pork and ribs plus the fan favourite. More than 20 food trucks will be onsite, including vendors with dessert, ice cream, burgers, empanadas and more.
New for 2023, Meadowlands will host Comedy Night on Friday, July 14 with two hours of hilarious stand up comedy in its newly redesigned Gallery. Performers include Rory Lutz of Last Stop Comedy, Travis Przybylski of AppleTV+ and Netflix, and Killy Tony and Dan Darvey of the New York Comedy Festival. Show doors open at 7 p.m. with the show running from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are just $20 and can be purchased by clicking here.
The Meadowlands Pace, the track's signature nighttime event, is scheduled for Saturday, July 15. Many of the top three-year-old pacers in the sport will compete for the Meadowlands Pace title and a total of $2.5 million in stakes purses will be up for grabs during the lucrative program. While watching and wagering on world-class harness racing, fans can ride the mechanical shark, dance with DJ ALX and grab commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last).
The annual Meadowlands Racetrack Burger Battle will also take place on Pace night. The contest offers a $1,500 grand prize with $1,000 for second place, $500 for third and a $500 prize for the best burger patty. This free event runs from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and fans are invited to come out and taste some of the best local burgers. Vendors can register by emailing [email protected].
On July 22, foodies can enjoy a $69.95 six-course Peruvian cocktail dinner. The dinner features Peruvian classic dishes including Anticuchos de Carne (grilled beef skewers with spicy Aji sauce), Pescado alo Macho (spicy seafood stew), Seco Nortena (beef stew with cilantro sauce) and Suspiro de Limena (Peruvian pudding with port meringue) all paired with a different Pisco cocktail.
The always popular Seafood Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 29. There will be a raw bar in the Backyard and a variety of food trucks serving up some of the best seafood in the Garden State, including fried clams, fish tacos, crab fries, lobster rolls and much more.
The race meet wraps up on Saturday, Aug. 5 with Hambletonian Day. More than $3.5 million will be on the line as the top trotters and pacers compete to be crowned stakes champions. Doors open at 10 a.m. with first race at 12 noon. Admission is $5 and includes a commemorative Hambo baseball cap for adults and children. In addition to great harness racing, fans can enjoy carnival rides and games, food trucks, pony rides, live music and much more.
