Sent off as the longest shot on the board in the weekly feature at Northside Downs on Saturday (June 25), Revenant returned to the winner's circle for the third time this season to eclipse his 2021 win total in two fewer starts.

With trainer Shawn Lynk at the controls, Revenant ($26.30) rode along in the pocket spot behind Johnnie Jack (Ryan Campbell) in the $1,600 dash through fractions of :27.4, :57.2 and 1:27.3. As the backfield started to threaten heading into the far turn, Lynk right-lined Revenant to challenge for the lead. He fronted Johnnie Jack in the stretch and held off the late rally from public choice A Better Man (Gerard Kennedy) for the 1:57.3 decision. A Better Man was second, 1-1/4 lengths behind the winner while Johnnie Jack stayed for show.

Kyla MacDonald of Stanhope, P.E.I., Tyler Lynk of Port Morien and Colby Lynk of Reserve Mines, N.S. hold the papers on eight-year-old Revenant (If I Can Dream - Dragonfest). In 97 career starts, Revenant sports a 16-10-16 summary with $44,363 in earnings.
