Bandolito was a decisive winner in the $16,000 Open Pace Monday afternoon at Harrington Raceway in 1:51.4.

The five-year-old Ponder stallion led virtually wire-to-wire in hand over Bad Boy Matt and Shiretown Pitbull.

Bandolito raced at Pocono Downs in his most recent two starts, including a 1:49.2 victory on May 30. Monday's win for owner/trainer/driver Daryl Bier was the 22nd in his career, which has banked him more than $380,000.

In the sub-featured $12,500 Open II, Robbins Nest Farm's Island Lexus ($17.80, George Dennis) recorded a new lifetime best with a 1:51.2 win for trainer John Wilkerson.

Montrell Teague had a driving triple, with two wins aboard Kevin Switzer conditioned horses, giving the latter a training double.

Members of the Harness Horse Youth Foundation's Youth Camp were on hand and recognized after the sixth race as 11 youngsters are participating in the annual week-long camp teaching them about all things harness racing. Three youth camp races will be conducted in between races on the Wednesday program as the kids cap their Harrington Raceway adventures off with what is sure to be a memorable event as they get their turn in the sulky in a half-mile dash.

Spearheaded by HHYF Executive Director Ellen Taylor, the organization provides young people and their families with harness racing information and experiences in order to foster the next generation of fans and participants.
