Star Keeper blazed the opening quarter in :26.3 and still had plenty left for the drive as she scored a facile front-end victory in Tuesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace

at The Meadows.

Although Star Keeper had the venerable Spring Break behind her in the pocket, she found another gear when Randy Tharps asked for it and downed Spring Break by a length in a snappy 1:51.4. Dont Blame Her was a ground-saving third.

Paul Corey trains Star Keeper, a four-year-old daughter of Four Starzzz Shark-Mysicaliscape who now boasts $151,200 in career earnings, for Rojan Stables, Howard Taylor and Lightning 5 Racing Stable.

Elsewhere on the card, Sweet Lou became the season’s fastest two-year-old colt pacer on a five-eighths-mile track when he won a maiden event in 1:54.4. Dave Palone piloted the son of Yankee Cruiser-Sweet Future for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Larry Karr and Phillip Collura.

Tony Hall drove four winners and Dan Charlino three on the 14-race card.

Throughout the month of June, The Meadows is offering $5,000-guaranteed Pick 4 pools each Monday and Tuesday.
