There was no stopping Blue Monk in the Saturday evening (June 18) featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Marc Campbell hustled the Jay Noye trainee to the lead in the $3,000 featured pace and controlled every step of the mile to win by two lengths in 1:55.2. The four-year-old son of Up The Credit strolled through fractions of :28.3, :57.3 and 1:26.3 with no threatening challenges coming his way. Mary Jean Noye of Clyde River shares ownership of Blue Monk with Denise Andrew of Calgary, Alta. The Big Chase was second ahead of Good Eye Hawkeye.

Driver Adam Merner had the hot hands on the program with three-straight trips to the winner’s circle in Races 4, 5 and 6.

Merner first clicked with the Melissa Rennie trained duo of Bridge Token winning in 1:58.1 and Diamond Call in 1:57.4. Merner completed his driving triple in Race 6 as he put Likely To Win on the burner for a 1:59 win from the Mark MacDonell stable.

Live racing continues Tuesday evening (June 21) at Red Shores Charlottetown with a 6:30 p.m. (ADT) opening post time.
