Lindy The Great showed himself in the class of any of the top male trotters going right now as he raced to an easy 1:52.1 victory in Thursday's (June 17) featured $16,200 handicap at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Starting from the outside post seven, favoured Lindy The Great out-rushed everybody to early command, but soon was joined by close second choice Scirocco Rob nearing the :27.3 quarter. Driver Andy Miller let Scirocco Rob go to the lead only to retake before the :56.2 half, and the victorious son of Crazed took it from there, hitting the three-quarters in 1:24.2 before drawing clear of Scirocco Rob by 3-1/2 lengths.

Lindy The Great is trained by Julie Miller for the Andy Miller Stable Inc., John Schmucker, John Mehlenbacher and VIP Internet Stable LLC. He has career earnings of $1,103,711, and he has now won three times in five seasonal starts — with his two defeats both coming to Manchego.

Morairtime only missed Manchego's track record for older trotting mares by a fifth of a second with a 1:51.4 win in the trotting sub-feature. Jack Parker Jr. sent the Airzoom Lindy mare right to command, and reeled off splits of :27, :55.2, and 1:23.1 on her way to an effortless win for trainer Carol Jamieson-Parker and owner James Moore III. She boosted her bankroll to $266,131 with the impressive victory.

Racing returns to Harrah's Philadelphia on Friday (June 18). Post time is 12:25 p.m.; program pages are available at the PHHA website.
