Scott Coulter worked out a winning trip for Lady Gambler in the featured $15,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Trot on Saturday night at Georgian Downs, which turned out to be one of four victories for him on the 11-race program

.

In the Preferred event, Lady Gambler used her token front-end tactics to score her third straight victory. The fan favourite left from Post 4 and carved out the opening panels of :28.1 and :58.4 before Saqqara Dream (Stephen Bryon) moved up from third for the challenge. That one pulled ahead briefly as the field approached three-quarters in 1:26.4, but Lady Gambler shook off her challenger as she turned for home. Down the stretch, Countess Stormont (Jonathan Drury) pulled the pocket and kicked into action, but Lady Gambler held tough to win in 1:56.1 by half a length while Gostreet (Lyle MacArthur) came on for third.

Lady Gambler won her first start for trainer Rene Allard, who shares ownership with Ferne and Jack Frydman of Thornhill, Ont. The win was her 10th of the season and 26th of her career bumping her bankroll to $158,548.
