When Card Shark Krazy hit the half in a Meadowlands type :55.3, and you’re sitting fifth in a field of six, good things are about to occur

. That’s exactly what happened to Arm And A Leg, a seven-year-old Nobleland Sam gelding, who won in a season’s best 1:54.2 for owner Mark J. Jakubik, at Buffalo Raceway Saturday night. (June 12)

Arm And A Leg ($6.10), the 2-1 favourite in the race, driven by reinsman Kevin Cummings, made a strong backside brush and hit the three-quarters with the lead in 1:24.3. A :29.4 last quarter-mile put the winner eight-lengths ahead of second place finisher Nifty Prescott (Ken Holliday) at the wire. Card Shark Krazy (Jimmy Whisman) held on for third.

“He raced really well”, said Cummings. “Those fast early fractions really set him up perfectly”.

It was the fourth win of the year for Arm And A Leg who is trained by Stacy Keene. The $4,500 share of the winning purse put Arm And A Leg’s season bankroll at $31,950 and $249,311 lifetime.

Four drivers had racing doubles, besides Arm And A Leg, Cummings also steered home Justlikeart ($3.60). Troy Boring made the winner’s circle with Just A Moment ($6.60) and Corey Drummond ($6.00). Driver Jamie Dunlap scored with Market Value ($16.20), and Take Five ($8.90), and Ray Fisher Jr., won with Spode To Be Black ($16.60) and Artic Blue ($3.10).

Harness racing will resume on Sunday June 13, with first post scheduled for 1:05 P.M.
